Students in Pre-Ballet through Advanced Beginning Ballet classes engage in a fun interactive theme each year which helps keep young dancers attentive throughout class and unlock the creativity in their hearts. Each year a new “helper” is introduced to the studio as an imaginative instructor for children. Using characters helps keep younger dancers entertained and attentive while they learn, making classes accessible and interesting.
But characters are not the only way CRDA helps students become better ballerinas. Older students remember teaching tools, like the imaginary pole, to make them stand taller, stronger, and in perfect alignment. Strategies like these are a long-standing tradition at CRDA and are a wonderful connector between past, present, and future students. |
Pointe WorkPointe work begins at approximately age eleven, depending on a student's strength and readiness. Pointe classes take place after the Intermediate Ballet class. CRDA does not rush students into pointe work, we carefully evaluate each student for readiness in both strength and technique. We integrate teaching the dancers how to care for their feet and how to dance safely on pointe.
