Performances

"As a young girl, Country Roads was crucial to my own development and maturity. It was here in this community that I learned to value my own creativity, feel comfortable in my body, and embrace persistence."
-Abigail Pitcher, Former Student
Country Roads has two major events where parents can come and cheer their children on. Both are not meant to be stressed over like other schools, but instead an opportunity to celebrate students growth and enjoy the beautiful art of dance. Performances are cost free, with open doors to the community and costumes provided from the studio. There is nothing like the joy of young dancer's smiles and older dancers pride.

Parent Watch- Last Week of January

Picture
The opportunity you've been waiting for to see your child not necessarily performing, but instead working with their teacher, learning, and putting good use to money you've been spending to much?. Parent Watch allows parents to sit on their students classes, take pictures and videos of their children in action, and perhaps see a glimpse of some of the dances that might appear at the End of the Year Recital. There is no cost or signing up, parents may just come right on in with their students and sit down on the readily set up chairs to enjoy a beautiful evening of dance and learning.

End of the Year Recital

The End of the Year Recital is held the first Sunday of June every year,  a celebration of all the work students have done during the year. Instead of spending the whole year learning intensive dances for various competitions, students get much more time to practice technique and improve their skills. After Parent Watch though, students begin learning a dance that shows off all the skills they've been working on in their class. The End of the Year Recital is the time they get to perform those dances for their parents.

The End of the Year Recital costs no money and/or extra time for students. Dress rehearsals are worked into class time and costumes are home-made by the studio for the dancers. Dancers often get the opportunity to dance in previously performed pieces, meaning that if you have multiple members of your family attend Country Roads, the feeling of legacy and love for your relatives will fill your heart. Dancewear are often are passed down from sister to sister, and the heart of a dancer passed from mother to child.

The End of the Year Recital happens at Crosswicks Community Center, just like all the dancers classes, but this time, it's decked out in balloons and flowers, often filled with things that younger dancers will recognize from that year's interactive theme. Our staff takes special care to make all dancers feel excited, at ease, and loved during their big moment.
