Country Roads has two opportunities for parents to cheer on their children. Neither are high-pressure events for our students, rather we treat these as an opportunity to celebrate students' growth and enjoy the beautiful art of dance. There are no tickets or costumes to buy for our performances, with open doors to the community and costumes provided by the studio. There is nothing like the joy of a young dancer's smiles and an older dancer’s pride.

Parent Watch- January

The opportunity you've been waiting for! Our Parent Watch nights allow parents to see dancers in a typical class: working with their teacher, learning, and showing off all their progress. Parent Watch allows parents to sit in the studio, take pictures and videos of their children in action, and perhaps see a glimpse of dances for the Year-End Performance. There is no cost or signing up, parents may simply come right in with their students and enjoy a beautiful evening of dance and learning. 

End of Year Performance

The Year-End Performance is held on the first Sunday of June every year as a celebration to showcase the work students completed during the year. Instead of spending the whole year learning intensive dances for various competitions, students get much more time to learn techniques and improve their skills. After Parent Watch, students begin learning a dance that shows off all the skills they've been working on in their classes. The Year-End Performance is their time to shine while they perform.

The Year-End Performance does require lengthy rehearsals  and parents will be happy to learn costumes and tickets are free! Dress rehearsals are worked into class time and costumes are home-made by the studio for the dancers. Dancers often get the opportunity to dance in previously performed pieces creating a feeling of legacy and love for generations.

The Year-End Performance is held at Crosswicks Community House, just like the dancers' classes, giving students a feeling of familiarity with their surroundings. However, it's hard to recognize the studio beneath the decorations! Our staff takes special care to make all dancers feel excited, at ease, and loved during their big moment.
